Before and After

Bones has decided that he wants to start limping again. Grrreat. But, I can't really tell if he is limping on his front left, or back left. His back left is slightly swollen with very slight heat. Front left neither swollen or hot. This morning he didn't seem to be limping but I only lunged him for a couple of seconds before feeding. I did ride him Saturday.. Sunday he was limping and a little swollen on the back left. I decided to switch his grain to Safe Choice by Nutrena. I've heard lots of good things about it. It does have the same protein content as Purina Senior (14%) but it has a higher fat content (Purina 5.5%, Safe Choice 7%). I'll give it a try.. I hope it's what he needs. I'm sick of switching grain.

I've been really interested in getting into jumping of some sort. I ended up going to look at a 17 month old Spotted Draft/TB filly. I really liked her although, she didn't know much (she hadn't been worked with very much at all). While I was there I saw a Spanish bred Arabian they had for sale.. he was gorgeous. I ended up working with him and riding him a bit. Gosh, I just loved him. They are only asking $350 for the filly, and $1000 for the Arabian. I would love to buy the Arabian, well shit.. either of them! But, Steve just doesn't want to buy George until Spring so, I can't. =( Oh well, I need to just focus on Bones right now anyways. I'm sure he will make a cute jumper! =D

Before and After

This is Bone's first day with me

A week or two after I brought him home, right after a bath

A couple of weeks after being home

He still has quite a bit of weight to gain, but he looks so great after less than 5 months! You can't see ribs anymore, the bones on the top of his but are almost unnoticeable, it's only a matter of time before you can't see his hips.
