...for November, anyway! I got some riding time on Bones.
Friday: Lunged for 5 minutes. Rode at the walk for 10-15 minutes. Trotted about 5 minutes.
^^ See that, TROTTED! Woohoo!!! That's a big deal.. to me at least. Lol! He has a nice trot, it's not bouncy at all.. but, maybe that's just because he's getting used to it and isn't going very fast?
Saturday: Lunged for 5 minutes. Rode bareback for 10-15 minutes. Trotted only a couple of laps around the arena.
Saturday was gorrrgeous! After working in the arena I took Bones out for some hand grazing. We have a fairly steep hill that leads to trails at the barn I board at. I ended up walking Bones up it to let him graze in the large field at the top. It also helps with working his butt muscles ( not to mention mine! haha ) and as a little trail desensitizing. Anyways.. I let him graze up there for about 10 minutes then decided to try and lunge him. He did sooo great! Maybe even better than in the arena.. lol. I have a video but my phone said it was to large to send to my e-mail, grrr.

Sunday: Lunged. Rode bareback in the arena for about 10 minutes. Took him outside and rode around the barn and about half way up the hill.
He was pretty stubborn when I was trying to get him out of the barn.. so I ended up getting my little crop. He did very well outside.. didn't actually spook at anything. But, did act a bit uneasy around the round bales (silly boy!).
Bones has exceeded my expectations in every single way since I've had him. He is such a wonderful, willing, calm, loving horse.
This morning I wanted to sleep in a little bit so, I asked my fiance, Jon, to take me to work and feed Bones on his way home. Of course, like the awesome man he is he said yes. Mind you, Jon doesn't like Bones very much. I'm not really sure why.. I think it's because Bones doesn't like him. Lol! Maybe he's a little jealous I talk about Bones all of the time and spend a lot of time with him. =D
