Today was so gorgeous! Usually after work I want to just go to the barn to feed, and go home. But, it was so beautiful I decided to spend a few hours with my boys. First, I worked with Bones. Did some lunging, and just messing around. He was acting so good and I had a good vibe from him so I decided to see if he would stand for me to lean on him a little. Usually he will move around a TON when I try to get on the mounting block but, today he only stepped over once.. I corrected him and tried again.. he stood perfect. He turned his head toward me, sniffed my leg and looked up at me as if to say "go ahead, get on!" so I did! We just walked slowly around the arena working on turning, stopping, and backing which he did all pretty well. I stayed on him for about 10 minutes, un-tacked him and let him eat. It's such an awesome feeling riding an un-broke (or seemingly un-broke) horse for the first few times. I decided to top off my day with a nice bareback trail ride with my other gelding, George. I love taking him up the trail, to the fields to gallop. It is sooo relieving. Below is a picture of George.. it's not very recent or good, I'll have to take some newer ones tomorrow.
