The last couple of days haven't been the greatest, Bone's wise. He's been very hard to catch lately.. which is really odd for Bones. He usually will come right up to the barn when I call him, accompanied with a nicker. After a horrible time trying to convince him that coming to me is a "good" thing and that he will get his beloved grain, I noticed he was limping. Great. After checking it out it looked like the left front was a teeeny bit swollen and warm. I decided to feed him and put him in the stall for the night (it was supposed to be cold so I was leaving him in anyways). Today he was still limping. Checked all of his feet again and now 3 are warm, 1 swollen hind pastern. Grrrreat. Sandy let me use some of her bute to put in his feed. I fed him, turned him out and left. I checked up on him a few hours later and didn't notice and limping, and the swelling on the back foot went down some. On another note, I have decided that I may sell George. I told Steve that I am considering selling him before Spring (he told me that he would be interested in buying George in the Spring). We talked it over and decided that Steve will start a full lease, instead of half, on George. This will begin in November and end in March, which we will then discuss him buying George.
