Basil has been quite the "handful". Within two days, he has tried to bite, kick, and go after (full on run at you the teeth bared) myself and the barn owner. This horse has ZERO respect for humans. He needs ground work boot camp ASAP.
The barn I currently have my horses at is set up for pasture board. The entire field is fenced in, with the barn in the middle (we use it as a run in). The barn owner is not very horse experienced. He backs down to Basil, and who
could blame him? But, this makes for a dangerous situation.

I've made he decision to move both Basil and Bourbon, but it will be a few weeks before the place I'm moving them to will be ready. That leaves a lot of room for an accident to happen.
So, I'm trying to come up with a temporary fix until I can get Basil in a safer environment. First thought is a muzzle. A grazing muzzle would do just fine. But that won't help the kicking.
I could separate him into a pasture that isn't directly connected to the barn, but he won't have shelter. I could leave him stalled, and let him out myself everyday for a couple of hours. But, that will create all sorts of drama between the horses. And I hate to leave a horse stalled for a long period of time.
I have some thinking to do before I go to the barn today. Siiigh for bad ponies.
On a lighter note, Bourbon turns TWO today! I wanted to sit on her for the first time today, but I haven't been able to work with her nearly enough to do that. So she'll get cookies and maybe a ground work session instead. :)

Good luck on the move and Happy Birthday Bourbon!
