  1. Such a pretty boy. I dont know about you but I can't wait until it warms up enough to give our white guys a bath. Daya looks like pretty rough! Has bones started shedding yet?

  2. Thanks!

Bones is so darn dirty/stained right now, too. Yep, he started shedding about a week ago. Has Daya?

  3. Yeah she started shedding about a week ago as well but the past few days have been bad! I've come home every night plastered in white hair! lol Doesn't bother me though, just means warm weather is right around the corner.

  4. Lol, I know! His hair seems to take an exceptional liking to my coat. =P

I can not wait til Spring!

How far along is Daya, now?

  5. Daya has between 3 to 4 months left. Her belly has started to really fill out in the past 3 weeks so I’m wondering if its gonna be closer to the 3 month mark. The vet comes back out around march 1st so we should know a closer time.

I’m in southeastern Ohio and the weather forecast showed one more week of cold weather then high 40's after that! (and its supposed to stay like that!). Spring will be here shortly!!!! So excited.

  6. I live in Newark, OH.. I guess it would be considered Centeral. Our forecast is pretty similar, if not a bit more snow than you.

I just can't wait to be able to trail ride again! I don't mind riding in the snow/cold, but it's too icy to go up there (our trails are mainly hills).

What discipline are you going to train Daya for?

  7. Yeah the footing is the same here. Mostly hills. (And the forecast has changed... snow for the next 2 weeks now!) I plan on training her as all around western horse. I might pattern her to barrels, do some cattle training, trails, who knows what else. Once she gets a good handle on being ridden I may teach her to go under an english saddle. I have a feeling she would make a decent jumper and she has pretty good movement. After I expose her to things I have a feeling she will tell me what she prefers.

How has bones been doing? Any new ideas of what you might want to teach him? He is such a pretty boy but then again I have always been a sucker for Arabians. Can’t beat a horse that’s smart and pretty to look at.

  8. Bones has been doing really well. I haven't worked with him a whole lot in the past month or so but, when I do, he does great. I, myself, am wanting to pursue either Eventing or Hunter/Jumper. I'm thinking about selling George (my other gelding) and buying a TB that I found. I just don't think I'd feel right jumping on Bones, he's small, and I'm tall. Lol But, Idk.. I'll have to see how everything works out. I still love western, and always will. Maybe I'll end up doing barrels. There are just SO MANY disciplines that I am interested in! =D
