Great weekend

We had a wonderful weekend! Well, my goal to canter Bones around the arena atleast once, by Friday, is achieved! I got him to do a nice canter 3-4 times around the arena on Friday evening. I was definitely cheesin' around afterwards! Lol. Saturday and Sunday Jon and I went on two nice, long trail rides. Bones did absolutely WONDERFUL both days. Saturday, he did buck a couple of times going into the canter but, I didn't mind.. they were happy bucks! =) Sunday he didn't buck or crow hop at all. Both days I rode him on a nice loose rein. When I took him out on the trail with Steve a while back, I had to have a LOT of contact with the reins, especially going downhill. He always starts out with a very nice, slow canter. But, I let him speed it up out on the trail. Bones is becoming such a lovely riding horse. He's so responisve and doesn't need heavy cues. I'll have to think of a new goal for this week. I'll post when I do!
