We got a couple of nice prospects from Sugarcreek today.
This mare is sooo quiet and sweet. She is a little stand-offish, but I have no doubt she will come around quickly. She's 14.1-2 hands.
This poor gal is verrry underweight. She was a "no bid/value" horse. We talked to the slaughter buyer, and were able to get her on our trailer.. not his.

They have the kindest eyes. How lucky you found such lovely mares! They will blossom in no time.
ReplyDeleteSugarcreek...just mentioning that place gives me the shivers *shakes visibly*
ReplyDeleteGlad you could rescue some sweet horses!
Yeah it's always tough going to Sugarcreek!
ReplyDeleteDo you by any chance know that this names name is or her age? She looks eerily similar to a mare that was stolen from me about 15 years ago. Her JC registered name was Penny Bronze, but when I bought her she was renamed Sterling Rose. She should be about 19 years old now, and I still haven't stopped looking.
ReplyDeleteThanks
