Sorry about the major lack of posts lately!!!
It was sooo hot today! I think I sweated off 10lbs.
Friday I rode Bones in the indoor arena for about 20 minutes. He kept tripping when we trotted and cantered to the right. I decided to just to call it quits for the day, un-tack him, and hose him off. I put liniment on all of his legs.
Sunday Bones and I went on a very nice trail ride with 6 other riders. He did really well, with only a few small spooks.
And today we rode in the indoor for about 30 minutes. We just went through our paces and worked on neck reining. Then I was going to work him some more in the outdoor arena, but ended up taking a nice 30 minute trail ride. He did pretty good, he was just very alert and looked at everything like it was going to eat him. He got a bit jiggy nearing the end of the ride, but all in all it was a nice ride.
On another note, I have a new horse. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on her before, though. He is a 5 year old, almost 15.3, black/brown, AQHA gelding. I got him from Angie, and she got him for free from one of her friends. He was underweight, wormy and had a bad kicking habit when Angie got him. She had only ridden him 4- maybe 5 times. I started riding him in exchange for English lessons. I ended up really liking him, so she sold him to me. His name was "The Rock" but, I changed it to "Kazi".
Kazi is a very sweet boy. At first I thought he was very lazy, I had to wear spurs to get any kind of canter out of him. But, as time goes on he is coming out of his shell more and turning out to be a wonderful, willing horse.
He's a gorgeous guy, I need to get more recent pictures of him to really show him off!
