New baby and the move

Most importantly, I HAVE A NEW NIECE! Briar was born on 8/25 and was 6lbs 12oz. She is beautiful and perfect in every way. 😁

Yesterday was moving day for Drogo. The hauler was running a bit late so I had time to try a new saddle on the boy. It's an older model Wintec 2000 jumping saddle. It seems to fit pretty well. It is comfy but I'm not sure how well I like it.. will give it a few more rides before sending it down the line.

After our short ride, I let Drogo graze while we waited on the hauler. When she got there, Drogo followed me right on the trailer and patiently waited while we chatted for a few minutes.

He trailered pretty quiet. He did neigh a couple of times when we stopped at a light next to an ice cream shop in town.
It took a little coaxing to get him backed off of the trailer. But, he came off not nearly as sweaty and worked up as in the past.
As we walked to the round pen, He was "looky" but easily managed.

He (we) fell in love with two minis, Buttercream and Blueberry.

I stuck him in the round pen while I unloaded and got his stall situated. The horses are on night turnout, so he stayed in a paddock adjacent to the gelding field, where he will be turned out tonight.

Sherry, the barn owner, said he was making friends over the fence this morning and seems to be happy. I'll probably swing by after work to check on him this evening.

I wonder how he will adjust to a stall.
