Blah blah blah

So, instead of Bones' lessee buying him, I am taking him back. She decided to save up and get a dead broke horse. He is currently advertised for sale or lease. The current plan is to keep him at the farm he is at now, and she will partial lease him for March. That way, she can give the barn owner 30 days and still be able to save a bit of cash. It will also give me a nice place to show Bones to potential buyers.

I've been riding BonesFace a few times a week since I found out I am getting him back. We've done a lot of flat work and a little bit of jumping. He is such a compliant little poneh. The only time he really "acts up" is if you get too strong with your aids, or aren't clear with what you're asking him to do. He just shuts down until you back off. I've actually learned to like this quirk of his, it keeps me in check and is like an automatic reminder to stay soft with my aids.

The Maremare's are doing well. I haven't done much with Ollie aside from a couple of small trail rides. I don't think she minds the light work load. =P

Ginger and I went on a ride with Sandy (BO) and one of her mares, Tucker. We've done quite a bit of solo trail rides, too. The footing in the indoor arena (pea gravel size, but with sharp edges) still makes her ouchy, so we don't do much work in there. I'm hoping her feet will get in better shape with more trims with the new farrier, and she will be comfortable riding in that arena.
Sandy's mare, Tucker.

I starting to pull (aka butcher) Ginger's mane yesterday.. and it's looking hideous. I went through it twice with the pulling comb, cut it with scissors, and went through it with the pulling comb a couple more times. Mistake using the scissors! I'm hoping I can clean it up tomorrow, and save the poor mare from further ridicule.

Still so ribby, but she really has gained a lot of weight and starting to gain muscle. We're getting there!

Ultimately, I want to have Ginger as my only horse. I've been feeling overwhelmed having three horses. I'm especially stressing out over taking Bones back.
Blah!!!
