I'm happy to announce that Bones will be leased in June! Mia, the girl who came to see the boys on Monday seemed to really like Bones. She said he was better behaved and more trained than what she gathered from the ad.
First I rode him in the arena at W/T/C to show her how he does. Then we switched saddles and put hers on Bones, so she could test him. He did well for her. She asked if he could go on the trail, so I saddled Kazi and we headed to the pine woods. Bones acted true to himself on the trail, spooking a couple of times but behaving for the most part. We trotted and cantered about half of the way. I'm happy with how the test ride went, and obviously so is Mia!
I had to go to Magic Meadow Stable (MMS) to get a couple of bags of grain, so I offered to show Mia around the new barn. She really liked MMS, and is excited to start leasing Bones there.
Kazi and I had a pretty fun ride yesterday evening. I started off with lunging him in side reins for about 10-15 minutes. I had him in his bridle (w/o reins), western saddle, and side reins. When I was finished lunging him, I wanted to try riding him in a saddle with no bridle. We did a pretty decent W/T/C "work out". He listened fairly well to leg and seat cues. It was just a super fun ride. Sometimes it takes those fun rides to remind me of how much I like Kazi!

Fingers crossed the Bones deal goes through :) Sounds like they really hit it off.
